Schools in Serbia received a letter from the Ministry regarding evaluation
Today, the Ministry of Education sent a letter to schools with guidelines for evaluating students in the conditions of the changed organization of school work due to compensation for teaching.

As stated in the announcement, the compensation plans submitted by schools envisage various organizational solutions and activities in teaching, as well as support for students during learning.
The Ministry reminds that the extension of the second semester of the 2024/2025 school year has been made possible, which is why it is important to continuously monitor the progress of students, which is the basis for evaluation and conclusion of grades.
When deciding whether and which grade they can give to a student, teachers should take into account, in addition to measurable educational results, the demonstrated commitment to learning, the effort that students put in, while respecting all the limitations and consequences of discontinuity in teaching. It is also stated that when grading at the end of the second semester, students' grades from the first semester should also be taken into account.
In order to support teachers in evaluation, the Ministry of Education proposed additional ways of monitoring and evaluating student work that can be effective in the conditions of compensation for teaching and changed organization of educational work.
Also, in order to make the process of evaluation and assessment of students as high-quality as possible, it is necessary to organize exchanges of examples of good practice in assessment in changed conditions at the level of expert councils in the school.
In the letter, the Ministry reminds teachers that the assessment process should be transparent, and each assessment should be explained to the student and parent, in a way that best corresponds to the established direct communication and records.
The Ministry of Education supports the efforts of teachers who, in the difficult working conditions of schools, consistently apply the principles of quality assessment, taking into account objectivity, as well as the best interest of students.
